At least two people were arrested early this morning after a police officer spotted two men assaulting a third in southeast Wichita, authorities said.
The incident began unfolding shortly before 1:30 a.m. in the 2200 block of South Broadview, northwest of Pawnee and Oliver, a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said. An officer on patrol spotted the two men beating up a third.
The men had a gun, KFDI has reported. A third person ran into a house and would not come out, prompting the SWAT team to be called out. That person eventually surrendered without incident.
KFDI is reporting that person, a woman, was also arrested. The dispatch supervisor said reports indicate only two arrests have been made in the incident, however.
The victim of the attack was not seriously injured. More information is expected to be released at a police briefing later today.
