A pair of armed robbers handcuffed a man and a woman behind a toilet before stealing cash, electronics and other valuables during a north Wichita home invasion Thursday night.
Police say two men in their mid-twenties wearing black ski masks forced their way into a home in the 2100 block of North Jackson around 11:20 p.m. After a brief struggle, one robber pistol-whipped the 20-year-old man in the home, Wichita police Lt. Steve Kenney said Friday morning. A 19-year-old woman was at home during the incident.
The robbers took the man and woman into the bathroom, where they were forced to the floor and handcuffed, Kenney said.
The men stole cash, keys, a wallet, and a safe containing jewelry. An Xbox and .22-caliber rifle were also taken.
The robbers fled in the 20-year-old’s truck, which was later found abandoned at 427 W. 21st Street North, Kenney said.
Police say the victims did not know the robbers.
