A Wichita man on parole for armed robbery was arrested late Friday after a police chase in northeast Wichita.
Police said the man sped away from an officer who tried to stop him on traffic charges about 11:45 p.m. near Oliver and Pembrook. After crashing into a fire hydrant and utility pole, police said, the man was captured after a foot chase.
Officers said they found a handgun inside the car, which had an altered serial number. The man, 25, was paroled in June after serving time for aggravated robbery.
