A family of four escaped injury early this morning when a robber burst into their house and fired three shotgun blasts into a living room wall, police said.
The incident unfolded at about 4 a.m. Friday in the 2800 block of East 16th Street, Lt. Joe Schroeder said. The parents were asleep in the living room when the masked, armed robber forced open the front door. He fired the three shots into the wall and took a small amount of money from the adults.
Two boys, ages 5 and 4, were asleep in a bedroom and not hurt in the incident. The adults said the suspect left the area on foot. He is a black man about 25 years old, 6-feet-3 and 180 pounds. He was wearing a light blue hooded jacket and had a black bandanna covering his face.
