For a second straight night a west Wichita Presto was robbed by a knife-wielding man.
About 9 p.m. Wednesday a man threatened a female clerk with a knife at a Presto, 7136 W. Central, and demanded cash and cigarettes, Wichita police Lt. Joe Schroeder said Thursday. The clerk complied and the man left the store.
The clerk described the man as a black man, 5-foot-8, 225 pounds, 19 to 20 years old. He was wearing a black, zip-up sweatshirt with a hood, gray sweat pants and had a blue bandana with a paisley design.
Schroeder said police didn’t know yet if that robbery was connected to the one pulled the previous night. The description of Wednesday’s robber is similar to the one of a man who robbed a Presto at 4414 W. Maple shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday. That suspect was carrying serrated knife. Schroeder didn’t know if knife the man used in Wednesday’s robbery was serrated.
