Wichita police officers will deliver more than 75 holiday meals to families in need today.
The meals, which have been arranged by the Union Rescue Mission, include a turkey, bread, pie and other fixings. The recipients were identified by officers over the holiday period. The families are not aware they’ll be receiving the meals.
Officers will be assisted by participants in the New Beginnings program, an outreach of the mission. The program helps previously homeless people in rebuilding their lives.
The meals are being paid for through donations to the Union Rescue Mission.
