Sunny skies return to the metropolitan area today, along with more seasonal temperatures.
Gone is the dollop of spring that Wednesday provided, with thunderstorms and highs in the 60s. Temperatures will top out in the mid-40s today, forecasters say, with brisk north winds gusting to more than 20 miles an hour.
Overnight lows will slide all the way back to the low 20s, and Friday should be sunny and cooler, with highs in the low 40s. Winds will be calm in the morning, then stir slightly out of the south.
The weekend should be sunny on Saturday, forecasters say, before a chance of rain returns Sunday.
