Two prisoners escape from Lansing prison

Two prisoners have apparently escaped from a minimum-security unit at the Lansing Correctional Facility, the state corrections department said.

About 6 p.m. Tuesday, officials discovered that Chad Duane Amack, 22, and Matthew Glen Allender, 28, couldn’t be found.

Amack is serving a 23-month sentence for theft and aggravated burglary in Shawnee County. He’s white, 5 feet 9 and 175 pounds with green eyes and brown hair.

Allender is also white. He is 5 feet 8 and 180 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He’s also serving a 23-month sentence for a theft case from Shawnee County.

Corrections officials described the men as armed and dangerous. Anyone who knows where they are is asked to call 911 or the prison at 913-727-3235.
