Two teenage boys were arrested by police early Saturday evening after they broke into West High School and filled a garbage bag with candy from a vending machine, police said.
A silent alarm was activated when the 15-year-olds broke a window to gain entry into the building just before 6 p.m., Lt. Doug Nolte said. Several officers surrounded the school and arrested the teens as they exited.
The boys were booked into the juvenile detention center. One of the students attends West and the other South High, district spokeswoman Susan Arensman said.
