Search for robber who stabbed man in west Wichita continues

The stranger walked in through the unlocked front door late Tuesday afternoon and asked the tenant, “Where’s my money?”

When the 29-year-old man who lives there said he didn’t have any, police say, the intruder wasn’t satisfied. He struck the victim on the head with an unknown object and then stabbed him in the abdomen with a knife at the residence at 11631 W. Nantucket, Lt. Steve Kenney said.

The robber then took about $200 in cash and left the area on foot.

The victim was found by his sister when she went to check on him just after 5 p.m., Kenney said. He was taken to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis for treatment.

He told police the man who attacked him is an Asian or Hispanic male in his 20s. He is about 5-foot-6 and wore all dark clothing. He also had unusually thick eyebrows, the victim said.

Police aren’t sure why the robber chose that address, Kenney said. Officers recovered a knife at the scene.
