Kansas National Guard wing to hold 70th anniversary celebration

WICHITA — The Kansas National Guard's 184th Intelligence Wing will hold a 70th anniversary celebration from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Kansas Aviation Museum, 3350 S. George Washington Blvd.

All former members of the unit are invited to attend. The event is not open to the public. The unit currently has 1,350 members.

The wing saw its first service in 1941, when it was known as the 127th Observation Squadron. The unit has flown everything from propeller-driven aircraft to jets, fighters, bombers and air-refueling tankers.
