Watch your driving on Meridian: police will be

The Wichita Police Department will be working with other law enforcement agencies in Sedgwick County to monitor motorists on Meridian the next couple of days.

Police will be watching driving along Meridian throughout the county from 7 a.m. Wednesday to 7 a.m. Thursday.

It's part of the county's Operation Impact to enforce traffic safety. Similar enforcements last spring on Kellogg and Broadway resulted in drivers being cited for more than 800 violations.

Police said officers will be watching for violations including speeding, making illegal turns and texting and driving.

Participating agencies include the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Department and the Valley Center Police Department.
