Police have identified the elderly man who died in a two-vehicle collision this week in east Wichita.
Boyce M. Bowden, 80, was driving west on East 13th Street shortly after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday when his Lexus drifted into the curb and blew a back tire, Lt. Joe Schroeder said. Bowden lost control of his car, which veered sharply left and into the eastbound lanes of 13th near Edgemoor.
It collided with a Dodge Durango heading east. Bowden was pronounced dead at the scene, Schroeder said.
The 28-year-old woman driving the Durango was taken to Wesley Medical Center, where she underwent treatment and was released Wednesday afternoon.

Neither speed nor alcohol is suspected as a factor in the crash, Schroeder said.
Investigators think Bowden may have suffered a medical incident that prompted him to lose control of his car, Schroeder said. He was the 18th person to die in a traffic accident this year in Wichita.
