WICHITA — Police are asking for help from the public in identifying a burglar who has broken into vehicles at three YMCA locations around the city.
The break-ins have all occurred between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. in the past week, Lt. Doug Nolte said. The three locations where the break-ins took place were not immediately released.
Video surveillance has captured images of the suspect, he said, but it is grainy because the cameras were so far from the break-ins. The suspect appears to be a black male in his late teens with a slim build.
He was wearing a white ball cap, jean shorts and a black jacket with white lettering on the back.
People who are going to the Y early in the mornings should take their valuables with them or lock them out of sight in their vehicles, Nolte said.
Anyone with information on these break-ins should call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
