As if Wednesday wasn’t hot enough for Wichita and the surrounding area, forecasters say today will be hotter still.
Yesterday’s high hit 103, and today could easily see 104. South winds will be steady at 15 to 25 miles an hour and gust beyond 30 miles an hour.
Overnight lows will only dip to the upper 70s, forecasters say, and Friday will be almost a carbon copy of today: highs of 104 to 105, with south winds steady at 15 to 25 and gusts to nearly 30 miles an hour.
The National Weather Service has extended the heat advisory until 7 a.m. Friday, and an excessive heat watch has been issued through Friday night.
The extended forecast calls for 100-degree days to continue unabated through at least next Wednesday.
