WICHITA — A 45-year-old man has been arrested in the death earlier this month of a woman whose unclothed body was found in south Wichita.
Janis Sanders, 44, was found on June 4 between an abandoned house and a small business in the 1100 block of South Washington, police have said.
Much of her clothing and some personal belongings were strewn about a half block away, police said at the time, and it appeared she had been beaten to death.
Sanders had been evicted about 10 days before her death, police said.
The suspect in her killing was arrested at a hotel at Kellogg and Broadway just before midnight on Friday, records show.
Police had been looking for him for more than a week, Lt. Ken Landwehr of the homicide section said today.
