Wichita police: Man, 24, robbed while playing video games

The 24-year-old man told Wichita police he was robbed early Sunday while playing video games with another man inside his unlocked apartment.

The robbery happened at 4:24 a.m. Sunday in the 2300 block of North Oliver.

"Four other suspects entered his apartment without his permission, then beat him up," said Sgt. Steve Yarberry, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department. "They told him he would get hurt if he tried to fight them."

All the men, including the one who had been playing video games with the 24-year-old, took items from his apartment.

"The victim chased them outside of his residence," Yarberry said. "The suspects returned inside the victim's residence and took more items and left."

Items taken included parts for an SKS rifle, ammunition and two .22-caliber rifles.

Although EMS was called to the scene, no injuries were reported.

Wichita police are investigating the incident. No arrests have been made.
