WICHITA — A student from Arkansas City High School will have his work displayed in Washington, D.C., after winning the 2011 Congressional Art Competition from the 4th District of Kansas.
Rep. Mike Pompeo, R-Wichita, announced that Joshua Hunt from Ark City submitted the winning entry in the competition. Hunt's entry will be framed and shipped to Washington, D.C., where it will be on display in the U.S. Capitol Building for one year.
The competition showcases original paintings, drawings, collages, prints, mixed media presentations, computer generated art and photography from student artists throughout the district.
Second place went to Minh-Tri Vo from Wichita-Northeast Magnet High School, and third place to Jessica Onken from Derby High School.

Earning honorable mention recognition were Amber Garrett, Derby High; Ashley Parker, Wichita Northeast Magnet, and Mihn-Tri Vo, Wichita Northeast Magnet.
