Two people died this evening in separate accidents in Sedgwick and Harvey counties.
Both were two-vehicle accidents.
One crash occurred on Kellogg just west of 263rd Street West between Goddard and Garden Plain.
Authorities said a sports car was speeding on Kellogg, when it tried to pass and SUV, sideswiping it. The Porsche drove off the road, flipped over several times, killing the driver.
A 52-year-old woman, meanwhile, died when her car was hit head-on at U.S. 50 and South Ridge Road, west of Newton.
Kathy L. Warford of Halstead was killed when a 20-year-old driver lost control of her pickup, said reports from the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Troopers say Lisa Dame of Hesston was driving east on U.S. 50, when she swerved right to avoid traffic that was slowing down. Dame lost control, crossed the center line and struck Warford’s car.Dame was taken to Newton Medical Center with injuries.
