WICHITA _ A runaway 17-year-old boy told police he was sexually assaulted Thursday in Sim Park near the Riverside area.
A 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the case and is being held in Sedgwick County Jail, Wichita Police Lt. Randy Reynolds said today.
Police gave this account:
The 17-year-old and 39-year-old didn't know each other, but they met sometime Thursday near Broadway and Murdock. They walked over to Sim Park, where the boy agreed to "role play" for money.

The 39-year-old then physically and sexually assaulted the boy. Police aren't sure when the incident happened, but the 17-year-old flagged down an officer at Broadway and Murdock about 7:45 p.m.
The victim pointed out the 39-year-old, who was still on Broadway, to the officer. The man was arrested at that time on suspicion of a variety of charges, including kidnapping and sexual assault.
Although Reynolds said he didn't know specifically what the role playing was meant to be, he said, "It's my understanding that this role play that was agreed upon didn't have anything to do with sex. That occurred against the victim's wishes."
