The National Weather Service is seeing the potential for severe weather in the Wichita area this afternoon and continuing into tonight.
"A few isolated tornadoes can't be ruled out," but large hail and damaging winds are more likely, said National Weather Service meteorologist Vanessa Pearce.
People involved in outdoor activities need to stay alert, Pearce said.
Thunderstorms will be possible through the weekend and into Monday, she said. High temperatures will likely be in the mid-80s.
