WICHITA — OK Kids Day, which gives children 5 to 12 years old a chance to learn about various recreational activities, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Watson Park, 3022 S. McLean Blvd.
The annual event will provide free instruction in fishing and water safety. Children will also have a chance to participate in miniature golf, volleyball, moon walk and train and pony rides.
Those interested in the fishing clinic should arrive early to register. Poles and bait will be provided for the clinic. A limited number of free T-shirts, hot dogs and popcorn will also be available.
Sponsors for the event include Wichita's Park and Recreation Department, Kansas Wildscape Foundation and the Kansas Recreation and Park Association and Kansas Wildlife and Parks, as well as numerous businesses.
