Man walks into hospital with gunshot wounds

A 20-year-old man walked into Wesley Medical Center at 1:30 p.m. Friday with gunshot wounds in his left pinkie finger and left thigh, according to police.

Sgt. Steve Yarberry said the man was uncooperative with police.

He told them that he was driving a black Dodge Charger that belonged to an unknown friend when he stopped at 14th and Kansas to smoke a cigarette.

An unknown person stuck a revolver in his window, and when he grabbed it, the gun went off, the man told police.

He said he left his car and got a ride to the hospital with a stranger.

Yarberry said police didn’t find a car when they went to the scene.
