Wichita State's Miller headed to North Carolina

Gary Miller, a vice president at Wichita State University, is expected to be named the new chancellor at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington today.

According to the Wilmington StarNews, the school's Board of Governors will announce Miller's hiring during a press conference at 1:45 p.m.

Miller came to Wichita State in June of 2006 as vice president for academic affairs and research. He has also worked at Mississippi State -- where he received his doctorate in biological sciences -- Weber State and the University of Mississippi. He is a 1976 graduate of William and Mary.
