Tuesday’s statewide tornado drill in Kansas has been canceled because of the weather.
Yes, I know – that sounds like a wry one-liner for a stand-up comic.
But cloudy skies are expected over much of the state, and weather officials don’t want the drill’s sirens to confuse people into thinking a tornado is on the ground nearby – or, at the very least, a tornado warning has been issued.
That’s why tornado sirens are not tested on cloudy Mondays in Sedgwick County.

The drill has been rescheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday…which tells me we can expect a sunny day then.
