North High staff member released from jail

WICHITA — A North High staff member who was arrested Friday has been released from the Sedgwick County Jail.

The 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of unlawful sexual relations.

Police say the arrest is based on an incident that occurred Feb. 28. The girl involved is a 19-year-old student at North, district spokeswoman Susan Arensman said.

The staff member is on paid administrative leave pending the results of an investigation by the district, she said.

Evidence in the case was presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's Office today, spokeswoman Georgia Cole said. A determination on whether to file criminal charges has not yet been made, she said.
