JEFFERSON CITY | The entire state of Missouri will hold a tornado drill this week.
The state emergency management office will conduct the statewide drill on Thursday. It originally was scheduled for Tuesday but was changed because there's rain in the forecast for that day.
The National Weather Service and cities' dispatch centers will activate outdoor tornado sirens for about 15 minutes. The drill is to encourage Missourians to practice seeking shelter, or to plan what they would do if a tornado was in the area.
The weather service says 65 tornadoes hit Missouri last year.
