WICHITA — Gordon Bassham has been appointed executive director of the Wichita Crime Commission, replacing longtime director Bobby Stout.
"We feel his experience in both law enforcement and journalism will help the commission advance its mission for many years to come," WCC Board president Joe Self said.
Bassham, who has served as a spokesman for the Wichita Police Department for the last four years, will begin his new job on June 21.
Stout is retiring after 30 years of service to the WCC.
