EPA awards $242,000 to Junction City for drinking water project

Junction City has been awarded $242,000 by the Environmental Protection Agency for improvements to the city's drinking water system, the federal agency announced today.

The project will install three flow meters and an enhanced disinfection system at the water plant, the EPA said.

"These water infrastructure funds will help to protect the biological quality of the water," EPA Region 7 Administrator Karl Brooks said in a statement.
