Man dies after stabbing in west Wichita

WICHITA — Police say a 38-year-old man has died this morning after being stabbed during an argument with his girlfriend.

The man walked into the Wesley West emergency room at 8714 W. 13th St. at about 8:44 a.m., reported he had been stabbed, and collapsed, a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said.

He was pronounced dead shortly after 10 a.m. at the hospital, Sgt. Bill Stevens said.

Police say the incident took place at a duplex in the 7700 block of West Nantucket, near 13th and Ridge in west Wichita. The man's girlfriend, who is also 38, is being questioned.

Police are working crime scenes at both the duplex and at Wesley West, which is at 13th and Tyler.

This is the third homicide of the year, police said.
