WICHITA _ A 42-year-old Inman man pleaded guilty today to receiving and distributing child pornography over the Internet, federal prosecutors said.
Kevin C. Chapin will face a sentence of five to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 when he is sentenced on April 25.
Prosecutors said the investigation began when a Newton police detective identified an Internet address in Kansas that was offering child pornography on a peer-to-peer network.
Investigators said they followed an electronic trail to the computer in Chapin's home. They said they seized a computer hard drive containing child pornography while serving a search warrant on Chapin's home on March 26.
