DERBY -- Derby police are asking for help in locating a man for questioning about a reported sexual assault early this morning.
Lt. Tim Brant said in a news conference this afternoon that police are trying to locate Patrick T. Stewart, 30, and a car that was stolen early this morning.
Derby police responded to a neighbor's call of a commotion in the western part of the city at about 4:57 a.m. Upon arriving, Brant said officers took a report of a sexual assault that sent two women, ages 18 and 40 to a Wichita hospital for examination.
As officers entered the home, Brant said two people fled. Police caught a woman in the back yard but the man escaped.

"She has been very cooperative with detectives and we don't anticipate seeking charges against her," Brant said.
Information led police to begin a search for Stewart.
"At this point, we'd just like to speak to him," Brant said.
Shortly after officers saw the man run from the residents, police learned of a green and gold 1999 Dodge Caravan being stolen three blocks away. The Caravan has the Kansas license plate 465BDK. The van had "For Sale" written on the windows and a University of Kansas tag on the front. It also had a sticker from the National Hot Rod Association on the back.
Brant said anyone seeing the vehicle or knowing Stewart's location should notify local law enforcement.
