Temperatures will climb closer to the freezing mark today under sunny skies in the Wichita area, forecasters say, but wind chills will remain harsh.
Those readings could approach negative double digits at times, with winds out of the southwest in the teens. Highs in the upper 20s can be expected, then lows will bottom out in the mid-teens.
Saturday should be even warmer, with highs near 40. But another chance of snow arrives Saturday night and persists through Super Bowl Sunday, forecasters say. Southern Kansas – including Wichita – could get a fresh dusting. Highs on Sunday are projected to reach the mid-30s.
