During a discussion about Children’s Dental Health Month, Sedgwick County commissioner Dave Unruh said adding fluoride to water may be a way to improve dental health.
That led commissioner Karl Peterjohn to refer to fluoride as an “F” word. Several commissioners chuckled, but Peterjohn said in county government, fluoride is its own “F” word.
Fluoridation of Wichita’s water has long been a controversial issue.
Commissioners passed a resolution proclaiming February “Children’s Dental Health Month.”
