Emergency Accident Reporting Plan in effect

WICHITA — The city of Wichita has activated the Emergency Accident Reporting Plan as accidents continue on snow-covered streets and highways.

Under the plan, drivers have 48 hours to report noninjury accidents that don't involve alcohol or drugs.

Emergency crews have responded to dozens of accidents today, but none have involved serious injuries.

Dispatchers said a rollover accident on I-235 just south of Kellogg prompted the temporary closing of the southbound lanes of I-235 just before 5 p.m.
