Wichita resident sees gunmen outside from surveillance system

WICHITA — When a resident saw a man with a rifle and a man with a shotgun in his backyard early Monday, he called 911, police said today.

The 31-year-old resident could see the gunmen, one in his backyard and one in his front yard, from his survellance system, police Lt. Doug Nolte said. The resident didn't go outside.

No one was injured, and no shots were fired in the incident, reported about 12:30 a.m. Monday in the 1200 block of North Larimer.

The two gunmen left on foot.

It's unknown why they came to the house, Nolte said.

Police arrested a 21-year-old man and a 53-year-old man, who have been placed in jail on suspicion of aggravated assault, Nolte said.

Apparently, the two suspects and the homeowner know each other, Nolte said.
