WICHITA — A woman's routine walk to her car after work early Sunday morning turned into a fight to keep her purse from a robber — a fight she ultimately lost, police said.
He approached her in the parking lot of a business shortly before 2:30 a.m. in the 7800 block of East Harry, grabbed her purse and took off running, police said.
The 21-year-old woman ran after him, caught up and struggled to get her purse back. He then pulled out a knife and slashed at her, at which point she backed off and he fled, police said. She then called 911.
She suffered a minor cut from the knife slash, police said.
