Wichita weather: So warm it could break a record

The calendar says January, but the temperatures today will say “spring” in the Wichita area.

Forecasters say the high today will threaten the record for January 28 in Wichita, which is 69. Sunny skies and light west winds in the single digits will help the temperature climb.

Overnight lows will be in the upper 20s, and then Saturday should be notably cooler but still pleasant with highs in the low to mid-50s, forecasters say. But then a cold front arrives, driving temperatures down to the 30s on Sunday and delivering snow early next week.
