A dramatic warmup continues today in the Wichita area, with highs vaulting into the mid-50s under mostly sunny skies.
The warmth will be accompanied by robust west-northwest winds, forecasters say, blowing steadily in the teens and gusting occasionally to the mid-20s.
Overnight lows will be in the upper 20s, and then Friday will be warmer still: highs in the upper 60s with light west winds under sunny skies.
But temperatures will begin sliding back toward more seasonal levels on Saturday and continue plunging until highs are only in the 20s early next week, forecasters say.
