CHAMPLAIN, N.Y. | A Missouri man wanted on child molestation charges is being returned to his home state after he was deported from Canada to Champlain, N.Y.
Officials with U.S. Customs and Border Protection say 32-year-old Kenneth Schneider of Foley, Mo., was turned over to U.S. authorities on Thursday.
Schneider is wanted on 2008 charges from Lincoln County, Mo., including first degree sexual misconduct and child molestation.
Authorities say Schneider entered Canada as a visitor in July 2008 and remained there without legal status until he was arrested on an immigration violation.

After his arrest, Schneider was turned over to the New York State Police pending extradition to Missouri.
