Teen arrested in Saturday morning stabbing

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on charges of aggravated battery and destruction of property in connection with an incident reported early Saturday morning.

Wichita police were called to 25th and Waco at 12:20 a.m. and found a 40-year-old man with a two-centimeter stab wound in his lower abdomen, according to Wichita Police Sgt. Steve Yarberry.

He was taken to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis in serious condition.

A witness told police the stabbing occurred at the 2500 block of North Fairvew where the suspect had bragged about the incident and been seen with blood on his clothes.

Police found, interviewed and, later, arrested the suspect.
