LAWRENCE | An Overland Park-based company will donate $1 million to universities across Kansas.
The engineering, consulting and construction firm Black & Veatch says the money will be used to support research and development. The exact allocation has not yet been determined.
The Lawrence Journal-World reported Thursday that the company will work with university representatives to develop a way to distribute the funds over the next 10 years.
Len Rodman, Black & Veatch's chairman, president and CEO, announced the pledge this week as the company accepted the Kansas Chamber of Commerce's Ad Astra award.
