Man uses pickup and trailer to crash into store, steal TVs

WICHITA — Police are searching today for a man who used a pickup and trailer Sunday night to ram through the front door at Hefner's TV and take three flat-screen television sets.

A surveillance camera recorded the incident at the store, 737 S. Washington, Lt. Doug Nolte said.

About 8:15 p.m., the suspect backed an industrial-size trailer into the store. He grabbed the TVs, put them in his trailer and drove off.

The suspect was described as a white male, about 30 years old, 6-foot tall and weighing 180 pounds. He was wearing a blue windbreaker, blue jeans, blue cap and gloves.

His pickup was a dark-colored 1990s model Chevrolet Z71 with an extended cab. It had chrome around the fenders and around the rear window. There was a white Chevy emblem across the full length of the tailgate, police said.
