Boosted by southwesterly winds, temperatures could break Wichita’s record high for February 17 today.
The National Weather Service is projecting a high of 76, which would top the existing mark of 75 set in 1970. Morning clouds should gradually make way for sunshine later in the day, with those southwesterly winds blowing steadily in the teens and gusting to nearly 30 miles an hour.
Overnight lows will dip into the upper 30s, forecasters say, and then Friday should offer more sunshine and a high of about 60.
