WINFIELD — J.K. Campbell, an assistant school superintendent in Arkansas City, will become Winfield's new superintendent, the district said today in a news release.
Campbell was selected by the Winfield Board of Education during a meeting Friday. He will replace longtime superintendent Marvin Estes.
The board said Campbell's annual compensation package will be about $125,000, including $115,000 in base salary. Campbell, who previously was a teacher in the Winfield district, will begin work July 1.
Campbell is a degree candidate in May for a doctorate in education leadership from Wichita State University.
