A 26-year-old man has been arrested following a shooting at a west Wichita bar early Tuesday morning, police said.
Two groups of people had been drinking for hours at Doobley's bar, 767 N. West, when an argument broke out. The verbal dispute escalated until a man went out to his vehicle just before 1:45 a.m. and brought back a gun, police said.
He fired several shots into the bar indiscriminately, and one bullet hit a 33-year-old man in the upper right thigh. He then drove north from the bar in a black Ford Explorer with a passenger.
Officers searched the area for the vehicle, and pulled it over near 13th and Perry. The driver and his 26-year-old female companion were taken in for questioning.
