Emergency Accident Reporting Plan activated

WICHITA — Wichita police have activated the city's Emergency Accident Reporting Plan as freezing mist has created hazardous driving conditions in many areas.

Dispatchers in Sedgwick and Butler Counties reported at least a dozen accidents by 7:30 p.m. None involved serious injuries.

The National Weather Service said a winter weather advisory will remain in effect until noon Friday.

Until then, patchy freezing drizzle and light freezing rain will continue to make driving on bridges and elevated highways especially hazardous.
