Authorities in far northwest Missouri are investigating the deaths of a father and son as a possible homicide-suicide.
The Atchison County Sheriff's Department says the bodies of the two adults were found early Wednesday at separate homes in Fairfax. The rural town is located just south of the Iowa border.
TV station KQTV reports that investigators believe the 28-year-old son fatally stabbed his 54-year-old father, then shot himself at another address.
The sheriff's department received a call around midnight Tuesday from someone saying a man had been killed by his son, who intended to take his own life.
The men's names had not been released by Wednesday evening.
