Winter is knocking on the door – and Christmas arrives at the end of the week – but Wichita could be flirting with 60 degrees today.
Forecasters say highs may reach the upper 50s in the metropolitan area under mostly cloudy skies. South winds will help hoist the temperatures, with steady breezes in the teens and gusts reaching 20 miles an hour.
Overnight lows will slip to nearly freezing, and then temperatures will slide to near seasonal levels the rest of the week. Highs Tuesday will only be in the mid-40s under mostly sunny skies, and the low 40s on Wednesday and Thursday.
No moisture is in the forecast through the middle of the week, forecasters say.
