Lawrence police investigate shooting

A Lawrence resident was shot early this morning in an incident that drew local police to the Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

An investigation showed the victim had been taken to the hospital after being involved in an altercation in the 2300 block of West 26th Street. The 23-year-old man, who had been shot in the midsection, was transferred to a Topeka hospital with life-threatening injuries, Lawrence police said.
